Do you know how old your electrical panel is? Do you know when it should be replaced?
The average lifespan for an electrical panel is 25-40 years. This picture shows a breaker switch for an electrical panel that was 40 years old (approx) and could have easily started a fire. Make sure you get an electrician to inspect your panel, if you are unsure or experiencing any of the following:

  • It smells like something is burning.
  • You are unsure of the age of electrical panel, or suspect it is over 25 years old.
  • Your breakers trip frequently.
  • You have bought new appliances.
  • Your panel has fuses not circuit breakers.
  • Your electrical Panel is warm or hot when touched.
  • Rust is visible.
  • Panel makes strange sounds.
  • Lights flicker or dim when you plug things in.
